There's no such thing as a silly question..

Is there a fridge?

A fridge is not provided. If you would like refrigeration we recommend you bring a cool box as there are limited facilities at the campsite shop to refreeze blocks.Otherwise keep your coolbox out of the sun in the shade of the forest trees. You can cool your drinks in Lake Windermere and socialise with the wildlife by the edge of the lake.

Can I bring pets?

YES you can – We now have accommodation at both Low Wray and Hoathwaite that is for the use of Pet Owners. After many requests we are now glad to say ‘YES’ to pets. You can see which units here

Are the units secure?

All our units have doors which can be locked and you will be given a combination padlock for this. Whilst you are in a secluded corner of the camp site and are unlikely to be disturbed we advise you to keep valuables on you or locked in your car. We cannot assume responsibility for the loss or theft of your possessions.

What DO I need to bring?

A sense of adventure and a pocket full of fun.. or practically speaking: a kit bag of clothes, canoes, kayaks, fishing kit, walking boots – kit for what ever activity you like doing.  Oh and maybe some waterproofs (hopefully if you bring them you won’t need them)!

You could also check out our internet page:  http://wildinstyle.co.uk/glamping-kit-list/

Tea / Coffee / Milk / Spices / Food and Drink..

A cool box if you have one as you can refeeze ice blocks at the campsite..

What should I leave at home?

Tent, Sleeping Bags, Cooking facilities, Cutlery. We have provided things like salt, pepper, oil, tea lights.

Weather

The weather is often changeable we hope for the best and prepare for the worst.. It’s probably best not to tempt fate but hoping for an amazing summer.. But of course it is probably best to check before you come!
Best App I know about – can set your watch to it on a 24/48 hr window – Yr.No (Android and Apple versions) – the widget is worth downloading :)

Power

There is a 12volt supply for lighting as standard. For those of you who want to charge a mobile phone etc each battery has its own cigarette lighter so you can plug in your own in car charger, or if you have an inverter you could bring this to power laptops etc.. although lets face it, you should really be taking it easy in the forest! We do ask you not to use a cool box on the battery though as they are drained very quickly with the use of these. There are also plug sockets at the toilet blocks for hair-dryers or a quick charge on the phone..

How do I cook?

Every Unit has a gas double burner with toaster attachment for the hob. This is ample for many a hearty one or two pot wonder, with the toaster for toasted sandwiches, heating a naan for your curry or for making croutons to add to your soup. Delicious…

As standard you will have all you need to cook including:Frying Pan, saucepan, steamer, spatula, sharp knives including a bread knife, bottle opener, knives and forks, plates, bowls, cups, mugs and wine glasses, salt, pepper and oil.

It might be worth bringing bbq equipment as we find it hard to provide stuff that is sufficiently clean for each new guest..

Where do I sleep?

For your comfort we have included sofa beds / futons or beds, depending on the unit, this gives you plenty of versatility both night and day. We provide freshly laundered sheets and bedding.

What happens if I get wet?

The units have very effective woodburners. You can hang clothes around this to dry them as required – but place these at a suitable distance so as not to ruin anything!
