The Great Lakeland Challenge – Windermere

England’s longest, steepest, highest charity challenge

We have Yurt’s on Windermere and so can give you a bit or a head start – all you need to do is bring your kit.. Enjoy the pain of the canoe, gruel through the bike and pound your way through the run… But don’t worry with us you can then flop back in bed with the wood burner on, kit drying, feet up and rehydrate or even continue to dehydrate!  Good Luck..

The Great North Swim

…what can I say.. are you mad enough?

Well obviously alot of people are this and more..

The Great North Swim – “Voted 5th top open-water swim in the world (2008)” is a one mile swim in Lake Windermere.

Taking place the opposite side of the lake to our yurts on the 4t/5th september 2010.  You could stay in the yurt, pop down to the lake on the morning of the event and swim to the start line?

Now just so you get an idea of some of the swimmers: the elite class –  bearing in mind this is the equivalant to 64 lengths of a 25m pool, do this in around 16 minutes..!

You’ll be glad to know it has sold out! – In fact it sells out as fast as glastonbury, not an easy gig to get on!
