Just want to say Thank you!!!…. We had a great week. We normally are campers with tents, but wanted to start the season early, so tried Glamping! Lovely.
The yurt had all we needed and things got added by Alex during the week, great attention to detail!. The campsite is a great location and is featured in the top 100 campsites and i can see why. Great facilities- shower, shop etc. Adventure playpark.
The yurt is well equipped and we had a relaxing time and the kids loved it. thanks to Alex for all the firewood and extras! We will be back….
We had such a fantastic time in the yurt – it was quirky, cosy and very well set up – we couldn’t have wanted anything else. My favourite bit was hand feeding the ducks who came by our doorway each morning for breakfast.
We are hardened campers but having kids has soften both us and our friends. four adults five kids in total. The yurts were all we expected and more. In a wonderful position on the Low Wray campsite right on the edge so we could let the kids be kids as we used to be but far enough away from the lake that we could enjoy the bottle of wine Alex left. In the morning the Mums even got to run off and have a canoe all on our OWN before returning for breakfast and the kids joining us for a canoe afterwards. It was camping bliss. Kids running round collecting fire wood for either the washing machine fires outside or the wood stoke inside. We got in the cars on the last evening to pick up take away pizzas but that was it. It was lovely to cook standing up to the light of the torches and tea lights whilst other people did colouring and drawing or had a well deserved glass of wine, depending on age! The only fly in the ointment I wish we could bring our dog to join in the fun but I understand why not. One tip – if you have little ones and have one take a Fireguard – Alex is building some for 2011. Hubbie packed all the sleeping bags in case it was cold but they stayed in the car. What a lovely lovely holiday – half the length of our summer one but twice as relaxing.
Staying in the yurt exceeded our entire expectations and was everything and more. It was unique, whacky, fun and cosy, yet even with the added comfort we were still able to maintain the sense of adventure that you get with camping. There was a nice sense of a warm and friendly environment, and to top it off you have the beautiful surroundings for great walks. Alex was most helpful and we will definitely return in the near future. Definitely recommend!!
Just spent last weekend in yurt for first but not last time. Despite it raining quite a bit had a great time and the children loved it, said it felt like a little hobbit house!!
Was very cosy with wood burner going, listening to the owls in the wood.
Would definetly recommend it, the girls didn’t want to leave.
Alex was really helpful, great get away.
Myself and my husband had three nights in a yurt with our two sons – a surprise weekend that our sons had organised. The whole experience was a surprise and a treat. The yurt was spacious, comfortable, cosy and a great venue for a family get together. All of the benefits of the outdoors without any of the drawbacks.
Alex was really helpful afterwards returning the glasses I had left by mistake very quickly and in one piece.
We will definitely recommend the experience.
One word… Magical. Thank you so much for everything. I can’t see who this wouldn’t appeal to – we were on a romantic break and I spoke to the people in the yurt next door – a lovely family of 3 kids (!) who absolutely loved it. They even said they were going to be booking next years holiday there before they left!!!
As one review said above, this is not the false “luxury” you often get with people just not understanding where comfort matters. This is spot on, and of the 3 yurts we have stayed in over the past couple of years, this is by far the best…. well done, and as Arnie say’s – “we’ll be back”….
I was worried that staying in a yurt would negate the whole principle of camping in the great outdoors. In reality, it was just as enjoyable but in a different way. It was exciting to be sleeping below the canopy, with all the sights, sounds and smells of the woodland. But it was also a relief to have a tasteful, stylish, cosy living area with a wood burner without having to negotiate the low ceiling of a tent or the cramped conditions. We had everything we needed and all the fixtures and fittings were characterful and carefully chosen. No false chocolate-on-the-pillow luxury. Nothing to disconnect you with the outdoor environment. We were in lots of space, not overlooked and a couple of minutes from both the Lake and the campsite amenities. Alex bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Finally, no soggy tent to pack up. I recommend you try Wild In Style as soon as you can.
Just got back from 3 nights in the white yurt and despite the torrential rain had the most amazing time. Low Wray campsite is beautiful, quiet and lovely just to wander around. The yurt had everything we needed and the wood burner made it so cosy, we were never cold. A very romantic little place, peaceful, just perfect for a little getaway. Alex was so helpful before and during the trip. Would recommend to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the outdoors without freezing your socks off in a normal tent! We will definitely be back….
