Ulfs Hyt – Coming Soon

Ulf’s Hyt is a 14ft yurt nestled on the edge of the ghyll, in the quarry which Ulf built. The yurt looks into the ghyll and is protected from the elements, giving you easy access to the spectacular views down over the Lake District..

Ulf’s Hyt comes with its own field kitchen with running water, a gas hob for cooking, its own fire pit, a compost toilet and a personal woodland shower.

The name translates as “Ulf’s Home”, which perfectly encapsulates the feeling of getting back to nature with us, and of feeling a little wildness in your bones. As legend has it, Ulf was the Danish Viking who established Ousby, our local, fellside village. As with all the names along the fell side, they can be linked back to when the Danish Vikings ruled the Eden Valley. Ulf the Runemaster was a master stone carver back in the days of the Vikings, who visited England three times and plundered a share of the Danegold. Ulf carved stones with runes to tell of successful voyages, family lineages and historic events, which are located all around Europe. Ulf’s Hyt is the perfect place for the adventurous to sleep under canvas.
